The impact of the open geographical data – follow up study
Since 2013, The Agency for Data Supply and Efficiency (SDFE) has provided free geodata. Since then, the free geodata has grown to be an important factor for the development of new products and services.
The new applications possibilities help to streamline and create growth in society. New analysis shows that free geodata has contributed significantly to the efficiency of the public sector and private sector growth, totaling an estimated value of 3.5 billion Danish kroner.
In addition, the use of free geodata has increased significantly since 2013. The number of users has risen from approx 800 to 60,000 and the number of data transfers is quadrupled.
